Tantsajuri and Homa
I created this final piece in Photoshop. It was inspired by the Kalashtar and Quori for Dungeons and Dragons, with thematic variations (Tantsajuri holds more power over the physical world than the Quori usually do, as they can only usually communicate in dreams). I was trying to place my two characters (the spirit, Tantsajuri, and the human, Homa) in a scene that illustrated the glorious, alien order of Tantsajuri's war and the power dynamic between the two (being that Kalashtar are essentially possessed by Quori). I also wanted to illustrate feral, natural characteristic of Homa in relation to Tantsajuri, although I ran out of time slightly. Tools used include Colour Balance adjustments, Hue/Saturation adjustments, Clipping Masks, different modes (Multiply, Lighten), and the standard stuff (brush tool, eraser tool, fill tool, etc.)
        Tantsajuri A
This piece of concept art for the spirit Tantsajuri was done in Adobe Photoshop. It is the first version of one of two characters that I used in my final project, and it is modelled after the Quori of Dungeons and Dragons, as well as some concept art done of different kinds of angels. The colours were edited using the hue/saturation adjustments, as well as colour balance adjustments, after the coloured drawing was created. It was inspired by a few varieties of helmets, to emphasize Tantsajuri's warrior nature.
      Tantsajuri B
This is the second piece of concept art for Tantsajuri, also done in Adobe Photoshop. It was done to experiment with accentuating the ethereal quality of the spirit, by removing the outline and adjusting the colours again. This was done by simply hiding a layer, and again using the Hue/Saturation adjustments. I quite like this version in terms of it's less corporeal quality, as the spirits are not really physically there.
            Tantsajuri C
This is the third piece of concept art for Tantsajuri (actually, I think I did it first, anyway. . .). It was a fairly rough version of what I wanted the final character to look like, done only with the Brush Tool. I hadn't an idea what to do with the head yet, so it was left mostly blank, and I hadn't added the arms yet (not because it wasn't finished, I just changed my mind later). On the other side of that, the piece does have a few details that were left out of the final version (note: tail, detail in hands and detail in body).
                  Homa
This is a piece of concept art for Homa, the human character from the final project. This drawing, like all the others was created in Adobe Photoshop. The character was meant to represent a feral, animalistic opposition to Tantsajuris ordered war and destiny. This drawing was essentially a practice run for the final project, although I think I do like how it turned out better than the final version. This piece uses the same tools as the concept art for Tantsajuri. The mechanical arms were a different iteration of what Tantsajuri's limbs could look like, although the shading kind-of made it look too connected to Homa, and to the physical world. I think.
                  Clandestine
A completely separate piece of art, this one was also done in Adobe photoshop. It was done as practice for figure drawing and shading, and was also inspired by Dungeons and Dragons, this time by the tiefling race. This piece was done using very rudimentary tools (Brush Tool, Eraser Tool, Fill Tool) as well as the Burn Tool, for the fire, and modes such as Linear Burn to adjust the colours. The characters name is Clandestine, the drawing isn't supposed to be a secret.
